A complete guide to the design of warm water underfloor heating systems.
Most Floor Finishes are able to operate with a UFH system if the underside of the floor is well insulated. Care is required to check the floor finish suppliers maximum temperature limits against the maximum design floor surface temperatures for given room or space.
It should be possible to fit UFH systems into any normal floor without requiring significant changes to the floor structure.
However there are some basic requirements that must be adhered to:
An underfloor heating system warms the floor structure, and thus the floor surface, which in turn warms the room or space. Warm air and floor duct systems are not considered to be underfloor heating systems in this context.
